Relay for Life 2011 Wrap-up

Once again it is time to say goodbye to another Relay for Life of Second Life season.  Since March we've walked, we've danced, we've raced, we've talked, we've lent a shoulder to cry on, and sometimes shed tears on someone else's shoulder.  We've shared our stories and our reasons for why we Relay.  More than all of this, we've shared our light, our hope and our love through out the SL grid, and through out the world.

RFL of SL 2011 was a year that saw records!  As a whole, the RFL of SL had 140 teams, over 3,000 volunteers, and raised $375,341 USD (that's over 75 million Lindens).

Team Fringe this year brought in a grand total of 512,323 Lindens!  That's over $2,000 USD!

Sadly the season ends, and we say goodbye to Seasons of Hope, and rest, and prepare ourselves for 2012.  As part of wrapping up the old season, the RFL of SL official 2012 theme has been announced as well!  "Time for a Cure!"

I'd say it's time for a cure all right, well past it in fact!  So now we gather our strength, and our ideas, and make our plans for next year, though in the meantime we still go on, hoping, sharing, loving, and praying for those among us, our loved ones, and even those we don't know, who struggle against this dreaded thing we call Cancer, each and every day, because for a Cancer patient, there is no day off.

"Until there is a cure, we Relay!"
